You may have a high street shop with no intention to sell online, but you still want local people to visit and buy from you. If you sell a line of products / brands that are highly sought after, it’s likely that a lot of potential customers will be constantly searching the internet to find out who sells them in their local area. Will you feature in these search results? Will your competitors?

And it’s not just physical products. Over 70% of travellers in the US and Europe create their travel itineraries via the internet, including restaurants and accommodation, as well as shopping.

The majority of people now search the internet, because it’s fast, easy, global and private. You may be listed in directories, and even have a social media presence, but without a website, potential customers are unable to get a really clear idea of who you are, or get a feel for what you offer, and ultimately whether they want to be associated with you or not.
